After a terrible day of pouring rain, high water, cold air and 4 hours of driving in it, I returned to Valle Crucis at the time sunset would normally be. The sky had been gray and now leaning towards blackness, but the sun managed to peak under the cloud cover as it set and revealed this spectacular double rainbow.

On the last full moon, I wandered outside late to let the dog out, and found this image above my head. For once, I think a shot I’ve taken of the moon actually did what I saw with my naked eye, a little justice. This is exactly what it looked like overhead.
Muir Beach Sunset

After a long hike in Muir Woods, the timing was perfect and the location was close…sunset at Muir Beach; just a little ways down the road from the National Monument parking areas. I, of course, followed this up with a pint and the english Pelican Inn.
A Little Light
This photo is from several weeks ago, but as the weather has been so gloomy and raw, and now with all the leaves gone…inspiration is lacking. Maybe it will snow soon

The cloud ceiling in this evening was amazing, causing the sunset light to dance and move all over the sky.

This small creek meanders along the BRP north headed toward Deep Gap and West Jefferson. There’s quite a few pull-off’s where you can check it out. I was hoping for some fallen leaves still in color, but it was still a beautiful spot on a cloudy morning
